Don’t listen to the nonsense that this is a tourist trap. Far from it since I found many locals dining there! Not inexpensive but priced for value with good food portions. I particularly liked the unfiltered larger beer they had on tap! While we were on holiday in Munich, we wanted to experience authentic German cuisine, so a family member recommended a restaurant to us. The restaurant had a menu book with various food options, and we took our time to find what we wanted to try, although it was a bit challenging. Eventually, we ordered several dishes, and we loved all of them. The staff provided fantastic service, and the restaurant had a beautiful, historic ambiance. If you are looking for authentic, old school German, this is the place. Lots of seating and good for large groups. Our waitress was super! We’ve had really excellent German food and I’d say our meal was average. The asparagus soup was a bit watery and needed more salt. You won’t leave hungry as the portions are huge. The pork was good, really enjoyed the two types of dumplings. Totally worth the price! Most of the menu is traditional Bavarian food with some standard German dishes. The portions are large had to take away one of the dishes. The plating is creative and beautiful, the service was perfect, the interior is beautiful and so is the cutlery. The dining options include Breakfast , Brunch , Lunch , and Dinner , with features like Outdoor seating , Live music , and Bar on site . Whether for a family gathering or a group outing, Ratskeller München is sure to provide a memorable Bavarian dining experience.
