#1Spacious geo-zoo habitats
Family-friendly playground areas
Hellabrunn Zoo
Hellabrunn Zoo creates a spacious, park-like setting in Munich, with tree-lined paths and large habitats designed to give animals room to move. Its geo-zoo concept brings together more than 500 species from all five continents, ranging from African savannah environments to the polar world. The Isar landscape adds a distinctive natural backdrop to the visit.
The grounds are clean, well maintained and easy to explore on foot, with a strong focus on animal welfare and habitat design. Families can add a petting zoo, playground areas and child-friendly routes to the animal displays, while guided tours provide a more structured way to discover the park. A café and gift shop make it easier to plan a longer visit, and the spacious layout works particularly well for families with young children or anyone looking for a full day outdoors.
